We Teach The Whole Child

Every student has the potential to succeed. Through our comprehensive academic and extracurricular programs students develop a strong foundation on which to build bright academic futures. Upon graduation, Catholic school students are well-prepared for high school and beyond.

Catholic education focuses on engagement and personal responsibility, modeling God’s words, “you are your brother’s keeper.” Service is embedded throughout the curriculum.

Catholic school students are taught to respect others and themselves, and to respond positively to the world around them. Families continue to turn to Catholic schools for:

  • Strong academics
  • Faith
  • Wholesome values
  • Safe school environment
  • Diverse & welcoming community
  • Family partnership about what is being taught to young children

The Nation's Report Card

Catholic school students in grades 4 and 8 are outperforming their public school peers in math, reading, and science, according to two recently released reports from the National Assessment of Educational Progress. (NAEP)

NAEP, also known as The Nation’s Report Card, assesses academic achievement using the frameworks developed by the National Assessment Governing Board. The assessment measures student progress in grades 4, 8, and 12.

The most recent data sets compile assessment scores from 2019 (prior to the pandemic). Catholic school students from across the United States in grades 4 and 8 participated in the assessment including students from the Unified Schools of St. Mary Magdalen and St. John the Evangelist.

On average, 4th and 8th grade Catholic school students score higher than their public school peers by:

  • 31 points in reading
  • 9 points in math
  • 14 points in science
